These terms cover this website. They do not cover the Towncenter software, which is governed by its own licence — see the last section.

What this site is

An informational site about a piece of free software, plus a handful of calculators. There is no account to create, no service to subscribe to, and nothing to pay. Using the site means accepting what follows; if you do not, the remedy is to close the tab.

The calculators are estimates, not advice

The tools produce arithmetic from numbers you supply. They are not financial, commercial, accounting or legal advice, and they know nothing about your business, your market or your client. Do not price a real quote on their output alone. Decisions you take after using them are yours.

The comparisons are dated snapshots

Pages comparing Towncenter to other products state, on each page, the date the figures were read and where they came from. Vendors change prices and features without telling anybody. Treat those pages as a starting point and verify with the vendor before you decide anything. Every trademark mentioned belongs to its owner, and no affiliation or endorsement is implied.

No warranty and no availability commitment

The site is provided as is. It may be unavailable, slow, or wrong. No uptime is promised, no support is owed, and no liability is accepted for any loss arising from using it or from being unable to. Nothing here overrides rights you hold under mandatory consumer law.

The hosted instance does not exist

The newsletter collects an address so that you can be told if a hosted version ever opens. That is an intention, not a commitment: no date, no price and no guarantee that it will happen at all. Leaving your address buys you nothing and obliges nobody.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload or probe this site, and do not submit somebody else's email address to the form. The newsletter endpoint is rate limited; hammering it will simply return errors.

External links and data

This site links to third parties and loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap, built from OpenStreetMap data under the ODbL. Those services have their own terms, over which there is no control here.

Content of these pages

The text and images of this site are published by its author. The screenshots show the Towncenter interface running against public register data. You may quote and link freely; wholesale republication as your own is another matter.

The software has its own licence

Towncenter is distributed under the AGPL-3.0 licence. That licence, and nothing on this page, governs what you may do with the code: run it, read it, modify it, and redistribute it provided you redistribute your changes too. The full text ships with the source repository. The AGPL also disclaims warranty for the software itself — running it on your own server is your responsibility.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change; the date at the top changes with them, and the history is public in the site's repository. French law applies.
