Why the Google profile weighs nearly as much as the site
For a neighbourhood shop most visits begin with a search along the lines of “bakery open near me”, and end inside the business profile rather than on the site. A shop with no site but a well-kept profile is often more findable than one with a beautiful site and an abandoned profile. That is bad news if you only sell websites, and excellent news if you sell being found.
- The best angle A business with many reviews and no website is the ideal case: the demand is already there and already proven, there is simply nowhere to send it. That is an argument, not a hypothesis.
- The worst angle “Your site is ugly.” Nobody has ever signed after that. A score, a screenshot of their page on a phone, and one sentence about what it costs them work considerably better.
- The trap A very low score is not always an opportunity. A business with nothing online for fifteen years has often decided it is not interested. Look first for whether they tried.
