What should you charge for a website?
The question that stalls more quotes than any other. Below is a range built the way an independent actually prices: by the part, not by a magic package. Nothing is sent anywhere; it is all computed in your browser.
The job
Price of the site
1 800 € to 2 600 €
Days of work estimated 5.5
Yearly upkeep to quote 360 €
The low end assumes a decided client who supplies their own copy. The high end assumes two rounds of revisions and photographs to redo.
How the figure is built
No market rate card is used here, and that is deliberate: an average market price does not pay your days. The calculation starts from your day rate and counts the days each part of the job actually costs.
- Pages Half a day per page beyond the first, which costs two on its own: that is where the structure, the type scale and the template get decided.
- Content A shop with no usable copy or photographs adds one to two days. It is the most underestimated part of the job, and the one that wrecks deadlines.
- Booking Wiring up booking or ordering is a day and a half, plus training the owner — which is not optional if you want to be paid without becoming permanent support.
- Local A well-kept Google Business Profile often brings more visits than the site itself. Count half a day for the profile, two days if you take on the neighbourhood pages as well.
